In the Beginning

Linda (Brace) Logue grew up around the Chicago, IL area and moved to South Florida in 1989. She has always been a huge music fan since a very young age and recalls her family used to gather around the record player and sing all the time and all kinds of music, including: Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, Barbara Streisand, Captain & Tennille, BeeGee's, and many more... When she wasn't singing wtih the family, she was acting out homemade comedy skits promoting fake commercials and imitating other people. She really loved imitating the dance moves and artists she watched on MTV, though. Linda practically grew roots into the living room floor watching MTV every possible moment she could. When she couldn't watch MTV, she had her radio with her. You just couldn't keep her away from her music and music videos. For Linda, it wasn't a life without music.

Somewhere in 1994, a very close friend of Linda's was driving in a car with her and Linda was softly singing with the radio. Her friend, Cassandra, said, "was that just you singing?" Linda replied (thinking she was going to make fun of her or something), "yeah, why?" Cassandra replied (seriously), "you are fantastic and I want to be your manager when you make it!" "That was when it became a little less frightening to sing a little in front of a few select others," Linda says. In 1995, Linda let everyone know she could sing solo when her father took her to a local bar and bet her $20 that she would not sing in front of a bar loaded with people for a holiday party. Twenty Bucks Richer, she took that microphone and sang Whitney Houston's "Saving All My Love For You;" and after 10 minutes of clapping, cheering & screaming, she knew that singing would be a way of life.

Experience & Training

As a child, Linda played the trumpet in the school band and competed with comedy acts in the school talent shows. As a young adult, Linda tried to gain singing experience and stage presence by entering singing competitions and such whenever she could. She won many prizes and titles. In 1997, Linda graduated from a Vocal Training class at Bair Community College and then began vocal training along with keyboard lessons from Josh Noland at the Josh Noland Studios in Pompano, FL. In the studio, Linda was asked to do voice-over work and lead vocals for a couple of professional demos.

Linda joined the FCMA (Florida Country Music Association) in 1998 and competed in the Annual Showcases. She won many awards; but she would say that she is MOST Proud of the “Entertainer of the Year.” Linda has been written up in numerous newspaper articles, been on a USA live broadcast singing competition over seas, and has done numerous voice-over work including a guest appearance for a remake of the cartoon, “The Little Mermaid,” a country-western version. During the 1998 FCMA Showcase rehearsals, Linda met Michael Logue and the two began seeing each other and writing music their own original together. Linda and Michael were asked to join a local band, named "Rocking Horse," where they played country and rock music for private parties over the next year around South Florida. By December 1999, Linda and Michael moved up to the Ocala/Leesburg area where they started up a new rock band, named "Missing Link" which quickly changed to the name, “Misstaken," and began to play shows containing the cover songs everyone knows & loves as well as their original songs.

Linda managed Misstaken most of the early years; and Linda is in charge of promotional end and most of the toys and "goodies" that you see and may purchase while on our tour. You may view Misstaken's past experience on the Tour Dates page under "Past Show Dates."

LINDA

Assets

Linda is lively and very versatile; she can adjust to any type of music or environment. She brings such feeling and emotion to each song that you can hardly miss a note. She really does sing straight from the heart and YOU CAN FEEL IT! Linda states, “I try to make everyone feel as if the song was meant for them.” She adds, “If it weren’t for Michael, I wouldn’t be where I am now in my vocal and harmony abilities, and in my life!”

Linda has always loved being in front of an audience and a video camera, and she grew up imitating music videos, comedy movies, comedians and commercials. Therefore, she loves to add tons of laughs into the show, whether it be improv or pulling a few toys from her bag of goodies and acting silly. There's just no standing still while she's in the room. It is Linda’s humorous personality that helps make the unique entertainment of Misstaken; and her versatile ability and vocal range help to make the unique sound of Misstaken.

A few words in memory of Michael Jackson...
Michael inspired me to sing and dance when I was just a kid. Michael is one of the main reasons I am a singer & entertainer today! I wanted to one day meet him and sing with him, and cannot believe that I will not get that chance now! Michael's passion for spending time with children, I believe, is the same as mine, only his was misunderstood. Children are so innocent and wonderful, and children don't have the capability to pass judgment and make assumptions... all they want to do is use their imagination, play, smile, and have fun. That's what adults are missing in the world today - they need to play, smile, and use their imagination - just go into another plain of existence in their mind for a while. My motto has become, "Rock Hard, but Play HARDER!" because I make it a point to play like children do whenever I perform... I sing, I dance, and I play, and it's magical. It's even more magical when I am in front of children because they inspire me to be the best influence I can be and to whip out a little magical imagination for them. But, Michael Jackson... Michael Jackson inspired me to be a great influence to all who look up to me. Michael inspired me to help people wherever and whenever I can, to smile all the time - no matter what's going on in your life, and to become the free spirit and non-judgmental minded person that I have become. I always say, "people are people, and I love all people, no matter who they are, what their religion, no matter what race; and no matter if they are the President of the United States or the Janitor in the restroom... people are all the same to me and I will treat them all the same." Thank you, Michael for all your wonderful memories, your influence, and your inspiration... I am sorry that you endured so much negativity, but I am more thankful than ever that you kept pushing on and let no one stop you nor stand in your way of what you were meant to become! You will always remain in all of our hearts and remembered as one of the Greatest People, Greatest Singers, and Greatest Performers in the whole world! Remember, SMILE... you can make any situation a little bit better if you just smile!
